Environmental protection is built into Baofeng's production model rather than added on. The coal-chemistry complex operates as a closed circular chain, in which the waste of one unit becomes the feedstock of the next, maximizing resource efficiency at the source. Green hydrogen produced from wind and solar power is replacing fossil feedstocks in chemical production, and carbon dioxide is captured and purified directly from process streams. Energy-saving retrofits, water recycling and AI-enabled plant management further reduce the footprint of every tonne produced.
Partnering with organizations to plant trees and restore ecosystems.
Installation of solar panels to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Sustainable practices across all manufacturing facilities.
Implementing water conservation and recycling systems.
The results are measurable. In 2025, energy consumption per unit of output value fell 9.42%, carbon intensity per tonne of methanol and olefins dropped 6.64% and 7.52% respectively, and all 126 key environmental programs were completed on plan. Baofeng has been ranked first nationwide for coal-to-olefins water efficiency for consecutive years, holds national "Green Factory" and "Green Product" certifications, and captures about 190,000 tonnes of CO₂ a year — with green hydrogen expected to cut emissions by millions of tonnes annually at full scale.
